Rugbyfest begun in 1968 when a couple of players - Lynn Davies and David Graham decided to organize a common function for the Edmonton teams that had individually hosted clubs from other provinces. The name "Rugbyfest" was coined and excites everyone who has participated in the past. Teams from B.C. and the Prairies travel to Edmonton to play games against Edmonton clubs with many social events through the weekend - some of them, like the Winnipeg Wasps, have been annual Edmonton visitors for over 35 years. The fest has been an international host to teams from Idaho, Montana, California, Connecticut, Ireland, and Scotland.
